The Solution
Our pick-and-pack process: An order is received, an inventory check is made of your inventory
at your distribution centers, the order is sent to the distribution center (or centers) that
best fill the order. A picker at the distribution center electronically requests a set of orders
to pick from their wireless handheld which then routes them through the pick-area picking each
item for the set of orders sequentially ensuring they pick all of their items in a single pass
through the area. Once the orders are picked, they are scanned out of the pick area by the picker
and passed over to a packer who verifies the picked items before being given suggestions for the
best fitting box to pack the items in. Once the items are packed, their weight is determined
and a label and packing slip created, tracking information is collected from your shipping
partner electronically, and transmitted to your customer. At the end of the day an electronic
manifest is generated for each of your shipping partners to verify that your shipments have
left your distribution center.
